Since the 1980s, Quail Ceramics has specialised in British-made animal figures in hand-painted stoneware. The Westie has its characteristic shaggy coat rendered in fine brushstrokes, and the opening at the top makes it dual-functional – a single anemone or a handful of pencils. A piece of collector's ceramics that lands between sculpture and everyday object, where figurative tradition meets British craftsmanship.
